Fernanda Bonilla, was born in Mexico City and raised in Monclova, Coahuila. She attended Law School at Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM) in Monterrey, Mexico where she earned her Bachelors of Law in 2006. Fernanda has met the legal guidelines to practice law in Mexico.
Soon thereafter, she became an Associate at Borda & Quintana, S.C. handling business law related cases, specifically, contracts, trusts, mergers, acquisitions, immigration and foreign investments, she remained at the firm for approximately five years.
Fernanda decided to pursue her Master’s Degree at the University of St. Mary’s School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, she earned her Master of Laws in American Legal Studies in 2012.
Ms. Bonilla became a Legal Assistant for M.A. Ramos & Associates, PC pursuant to a valid OPT for eleven months in July 2012, she was then offered the full time position of Mexican Legal Advisor with the firm and remained in said position for another three months.
Ms. Bonilla is currently the Mexican Legal Advisor for Elizabeth Reed Law Firm, PLLC, handling all employment based petitions, immigrant and nonimmigrant. She enjoys cooking and reading. Fernanda is fluent in English and Spanish.
Always committed to giving back to the community, she is currently the Fiesta & Red Ribbon Chair for the Junior Advisory Council at MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). She has concluded her term with the Council and is now a Volunteer.
While at St. Mary’s, Mayra participated in events with social impact on the community, like “Continue the Heritage,” “Communities in Schools” and “Big Brothers Big Sisters,” to this day, Mayra continues to mentor her ‘little sister.’ During this time she interned at MADD for 6 months in order to fulfill her Political Science class requirements. As an intern, she served as a Court Monitor keeping track of DWI cases in Bexar County. Mayra also, served as a member of the “Walk like MADD” Committee, which is the biggest annual fundraiser for the non-profit.
Ms. Juarez was offered the position of Legal Assistant for M.A. Ramos & Associates, PC in February 2013 where she handled all business visas related cases for seven months.
Mayra is currently a Legal Assistant for Elizabeth Reed Law Firm, PLLC handling employment based nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions.
Mayra plans to pursue her Juris Doctor degree. She is an avid baker, and loves going to the movies. Mayra is fluent in English and Spanish.
